Keonjhar: The body of a middle-aged woman was found floating in a pond Sunday morning near Naranapur village under Town police limits in Keonjhar district, an official source informed.
According to the police official, identity of the deceased has not been ascertained yet. Age of the woman would be around 32 years. Some residents had gone to the pond for washing early in the morning and saw the body. She was seen wearing a saree, had long hair and wore bangles when spotted by the locals.

On being informed, a team of personnel from Town police station and local fire services rushed to the pond and recovered the body.
Police have registered a case in this connection and launched an investigation which is underway, the police official informed.
Based on prima facie evidences, the woman appears to be married and was perhaps murdered, the Town police official said.
