Kerala: Parents greatest joy lies in fulfilling their children’s desire. Arun Kumar Purushothaman, who hails from Kerala, is a proud father with no exception either. The man has made a mini auto rickshaw for his two kids so that they can play with it and bring the miraculous smile upon the parents.
He made it after his five-year-old son Madhav Krishna wanted to have an auto after seeing the popular 1990 Malayalam film ‘Aye Auto’.
Arun has loved vehicles ever since he was a child. His family’s financial constraints made him innovate and prompted him to create toy vehicles from a very young age. Now a father of two, his love has still holds strong. He even won the first prize for making a working model of a JCB earthmover in a state-level competition. And his latest creation may well be his most creative one yet, inspired by his kids!
Going the extra mile to ensure the kids get the most unique toys to play with and indulge in his love for vehicles; the staff nurse from Kerala’s Idukki district has built a tiny, fully functional and extremely cute auto-rickshaw.
Inspired by the 90’s Malayalam film “Aye Auto”, Arun put in 7 months of hard work to build the auto-rickshaw using recycled materials, adding in a motor and a battery. His son Madhav Krishna is a huge fan of the film, and named the auto “Sundhari” after the iconic song.
Arun also found an incredibly creative way to tell the world about his creation – he made a video featuring his two kids driving the auto with the song playing the background. The video shows the whole process of him designing and making the whole mini-ride.
