Bhubaneswar: Khurda eves emerged team champions in the recently concluded 56th State Weightlifting Championships in Sundargarh.
Khurda clinched a total of 33 medals including 15 gold, 13 silver and five bronze medals. They also created 15 records in the process.
Jhili Dalabehera broke six state records both in the junior and senior category. In the girls’ 48kg category she lifted a total of 154 kg including 68 kg in snatch and 86 kg in clean and jerk. In the 75 kg category Subhasmita Mohanty broke two state junior and snior records by lifting a total of 189 kg including 85 kg in snatch and 189 kg in clean and jerk.
In the junior boys’ 85 kg category also Prakash Kumar Behera broke three state records after lifting a total of 251 kg including 111 kg in snatch and 140 kg in clean and jerk. In the boys’ junior 94 kg category Lalit Kumar Sahoo broke three state records after lifting a total of 271 kg including 121 kg in snatch and 150 kg in jerk.
