Angul: A 14 feet long king cobra was rescued from a house at Talagada village under Bantala police limits in Angul district Friday.
Panic struck the locals after they sighted the huge poisonous snake at the residence of one Rabi Dehury of the village Friday morning.
Being scared, they informed Snake Helpline who rushed to the spot to rescue the reptile.
The snake rescuers identified the snake as king cobra and rescued it from the spot. The snake was later released into the wild.
According to locals, the snakes leave the dense forests during monsoons and slither inside the houses in slums and villages.
