Puri: Bhubaneswar Pradhan who essayed the role of King Kansa in the famous Dhanu Yatra of Bargarh Wednesday sought an apology from Lord Jagannath for hurling abuses at
Lord Krishna and Lord Balaram during the 11-day festival that concluded Tuesday.
Pradhan also visited Gobardhan Peeth to seek blessings of Sankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati. Pradhan along with his family reached Gobardhan Peeth early in the morning and paid obeisance to Goddess Bimala and Lord Gobardhan Nath. He confessed to the crime of hurling abuses at Lord Krishna while playing the role of Kansa before the Sankaracharya and sought his blessings.
Pradhan had a bath in the sea and worshipped the Sun god as part of his repentance. He later visited Srimandir and tendered an apology before the Lord. “I had hurled abuses at Lord Krishna and Lord Balaram while essaying the role of Kansa. I apologised before Lord Jagannath and confessed to my crime before the Sankaracharya,” Pradhan said.
Several people gathered on the beach and near Srimandir to have a look of Pradhan who ruled the western Orissa city of Bargarh for 11 days during the Dhanu Yatra.
