Bhubaneswar: KISS entered the semifinals of the Inter-School football tournament pipping BJB English Medium School by a solitary goal in their quarterfinal match at the Unit VI Ground here, Monday.
Samar Kumar Baskey scored the only goal of the match in the 45th minute. Soumya Ranjan Mishra of BJB was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant goalkeeping.
Earlier, former player of Unit VI Athletic Association Biranchi Mohanty was felicitated before the start of the match.
Rugby meet
The All India U-19 Rugby Championships will be played at the MPC Autonomous College Ground in Baripada, September 5-9. Thirty two teams, including 20 in boys’ category and 12 in girls’ segment, will participate in the five-day meet. The teams adjudged to have performed the best will get the chance to participate in the Asian Trophy.
Six from Odisha
The AIFF selected Monday six footballers from Odisha to attend the training camp of the Indian women’s team to prepare for the SAFF U-18 Women’s Championships. The camp will start September 5 at Patiala. The selected players are Eva Panna, Soni Behera, Deepa Naik, Jabamani Tudu, Shanti Murmu and Manisha Naik.
