Mumbai: West Indies stars Andre Russell and Sunil Narine who play for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL have arrived here. They will undergo seven-day quarantine with other teammates who are already here. Both Sunil Narine and Andre Russell will join the bio-bubble after undergoing quarantine.
“The moment you’ve all been waiting for… The 2018 and 2019 MVP’s are in the house!” KKR captioned the video which announced the arrival of both Narine and Russell. The two can be seen getting out of their car and heading into the hotel, where they undergo temperature scans.
The last edition of the IPL was played in the UAE. This year the tournament returns to India and will be played at six venues. It is not known whether the teams will get to play games on their home venues.
Both Russell and Narine assured their fans that they will put their best foot forward in the upcoming edition of the tournament.
“Whenever you think about the IPL, you think about India, so it’s great to be back,” Narine is heard saying in the video. “Hopefully we can have a better season than last year,” he added.

Both Narine and Russell did not perform according to expectations in the UAE as KKR failed to make the playoffs in IPL 2020.
“We are closer to you guys now, so… the games are in India. So whether you guys are watching from home or from the stands, we’ll be representing purple and gold,” said Russell, referring to the KKR colours.

“Now is the time that we are going to do our best, because we know the bio-bubble. We’re used to this situation. Our mindset is already planned for this. Keep supporting us,” Russell added.
“No matter what the situation, we are going to go out there and try our best. Hopefully this year is the year to bring back the title,” joined in Narine, before both of them chime in for the war cry of ‘Korbo, lorbo, jeetbo’, the KKR motto.
KKR finished fifth in the points table in the UAE edition of the tournament. This time they will start their campaign April 11 against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Chennai.
