Koraput/Nandapur: Koraput District Collector V Keerthi Vasan has been awarded the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration for the outstanding implementation of various Central government schemes in 2024.
The award was presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi during the Civil Services Day celebration Monday. Koraput was recognised in the category of “Holistic Development of Districts”.
Out of 712 districts assessed across the country, only five were selected for the honour, with Koraput ranked among the best-performing. The Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration is one of the highest accolades for outstanding governance in India.

The district received praise for its successful execution of major national schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan Abhiyaan, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, PM Vishwakarma, Kisan Credit Card scheme, Mission Indradhanush, Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY), Har Ghar Jal (Jal Jeevan Mission), and both the urban and rural Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojanas.
