Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to provide the necessary financial assistance for extending the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar scheme to households in Kotia and form a participatory committee involving local residents to address their demands and guide the region’s development.
The decisions were discussed at a high-level review meeting on Kotia’s comprehensive development, chaired by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar Monday.
Emphasising the state government’s commitment to protecting the interests of Kotia residents, Pujari said the region was an integral part of Odisha’s identity and pride.
He directed officials to ensure that the legitimate demands of local people were addressed and that development benefits reached every household.
The meeting emphasised the formation of a committee involving local residents to assess their needs, consider their demands and facilitate participatory development planning for Kotia.
The government also decided to provide the necessary funds to facilitate the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar scheme in households across Kotia.
A solar power project worth Rs 7.19 crore has also been planned. Pujari reiterated that Kotia was, is and will remain an integral part of Odisha.
