Bargaon: A 47-year-old man from Birshu village in Sundargarh district allegedly died of sunstroke Thursday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Sambu Majhi. Police registered a case of unnatural death and launched an investigation. According to reports, Majhi was working as a labourer at a house in Budna village. He suddenly fell ill and collapsed around 10:30 am while doing masonry work under intense heat.
He was rushed to the Bargaon hospital and later referred to the Rourkela Government Hospital as his condition deteriorated. However, he succumbed on the way, officials said.
His family has lodged a complaint with the police. The body will be sent for post-mortem examination Friday, family members said.
