LAC clears land for 31 pending projects

Bhubaneswar: In a major boost to Odisha’s industrial development, the Land Allotment Committee (LAC) has cleared land allocation for 31 long-pending industrial projects. The meeting, chaired by IDCO Chairperson Usha Padhee, was held Thursday at IDCO Towers here. The approvals are expected to unlock substantial investments and create significant employment opportunities across multiple sectors in the state. Most of the cleared proposals are from the MSME sector, along with projects in apparel and textiles, food processing, engineering and other emerging industries. The committee also gave special priority to proposals in non-industrial and backward districts such as Koraput, Kalahandi and Rayagada, reinforcing the government’s focus on balanced and inclusive industrial growth.

The meeting was attended by MSME department Commissioner-cum-Secretary and IDCO Managing Director D Prasanth Kumar Reddy; IPICOL Managing Director Bhupendra Singh Poonia; Director of Industries Aboli Sunil Naravane; OCAC Executive Director Kaustuva Dipta Pany, along with other senior officials and committee members. Reaffirming its commitment to investor-friendly governance, the LAC stressed transparent procedures, time-bound decision-making and proactive facilitation to boost investor confidence and promote balanced regional economic growth across Odisha.
