New Delhi: As the news of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s demise aired, number of people started thronging the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here.
People from different spheres of the society rushed to the premier healthcare facility and even chanted slogans of Bharat Mata ki Jai to express their grief over the leader’s demise.
Delhi University assistant professor Sunny Singh termed Vajpayee the leader of masses. “He was the founder of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). People joined the party only for him. Even opposition party leaders also admired him because of his nationalist ideology. He always kept nation above the party line for which he was loved by masses,” said Singh. Vajpayee was a true statesman, he added.
Praveen Thakur, a PhD student in IIT Delhi said he has been inspired by the patriotism of the former PM. “Vajpayeeji was the Bhishm Pitamah of the Indian politics. I’m inspired by his nationalism. May his soul rest in peace,” Thakur said.
