Kendrapara/Puri: Two persons were killed and seven others injured in lightning strikes at different places of the state Monday.
Two persons of a family were killed and two others injured when lightning struck a country boat at Jamboo village in Kendrapara.
According to reports, a woman and her daughter were killed when lightning struck them while they were fishing in a boat.
The woman’s grandson and another relative were also injured. They have been admitted to the Mahakalpara hospital and their condition is stated to be stable.
Similarly, two residents of Pentha village under Marshaghai block in Kendrapara district were critically injured by a lightning strike while they were sitting at the house veranda. The duo was rushed to the Kendrapara district hospital.
In another incident, three of a family were injured when lightning struck their house at Bibhutipur village under Kakatpur block of Puri district.
The injured, identified as Kailash Sahu, his wife and daughter, have been rushed to the Kakatpur Community Health Centre and later shifted to the Charichhak Community Health center.
