Subarnapur: Residents from Hilung village in Birmaharajpur block of Subarnapur district in Odisha allegedly spotted a mysterious creature in the village’s pond, a source said Saturday.
Following the advent of the creature Friday evening, panic has engulfed the village.
On being informed, Forest Department officials reached the spot. The officials barred the villagers from going near the pond, the source informed.
It is learnt that the forest staff will investigate the matter today.
A forest official said, “It might be a snake or a crocodile. If it’s a crocodile or other wild animal, then we will rescue it. If it’s a snake then we will let it go by itself.”
