Bhubaneswar: Chief Post Master General (CPMG) of Odisha circle, Santosh Kumar Kamila, released the logo and prospectus of the 10th State Level Philatelic Exhibition, ODIPEX-2018, at a function organised at Postal Recreation Club here Wednesday.
Kamila, elaborating the significant features of ODIPEX- 2018, said, “The 10th State Level Philatelic Exhibition of Odisha Circle, ODIPEX- 2018, will be held at Rabindra Vidya Niketan in Keonjhar from 15th December to 17th December, 2018.”
He added that the exhibition is being organised to promote philately, social and cultural activities, to encourage the youth to pursue philately as a hobby and to provide an opportunity for the philatelists and stamp collectors to showcase their collections.
Around 500 philatelic frames will be on display in this exhibition in which philatelists and stamp collectors from all over the state can participate and the winners will be awarded with medals and diplomas.
Various competitions like letter-writing, stamp-designing and philately quiz will be conducted separately for Odia and English medium schools. The exhibits will be classified into non-competitive classes and competitive classes. Kamila mentioned that there will be no entry fee for non-competitive classes and youth classes but the entry fee for competitive classes has been fixed at Rs 100 per frame.
Post Master General (PMG) of Berhampur region, Jaleswar Kanhar, PMG Sambalpur region, Lalitendu Pradhan and DPS (Hrs), G Gurunathan, among several others were present at the event.
