Bhubaneswar: A man attacked and injured his younger brother for the latter’s alleged extramarital affair with the former’s wife at Khetrapal near Airfield in Bhubaneswar Sunday.
The injured man, rescued by the police, was first admitted at Capital hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
The man suffered deep cut injuries on his head, neck and legs.
According to police sources, the two brothers often engaged in verbal duel over the younger brother’s alleged affair with his sister-in-law.
Despite being reprimanded, the younger brother kept relationships with the woman.
When the elder brother returned home from his work Sunday noon, he found his wife and his brother inside the house.
Upon asking, his wife held her brother-in-law entirely responsible following which the elder brother attacked the younger one.
After hitting his brother’s head with an iron rod, the elder brother attacked the former with a ‘bhujali’, leaving him in a pool of blood.
Hearing his cry for help, neighbours rescued him and informed the police.
