Kalyan: In a shocking incident, a woman was allegedly drugged and gangraped by her husband and his friend here in Maharashtra district. The accused subsequently made a video of the act and blackmailed her, police said.
While the incident occurred August 17, the matter came to the fore Tuesday after the victim lodged a written complaint with the police.
The survivor filed a complaint against her husband, who is employed with a private firm and his friend. Both the accused are on the run.
According to the complainant, the couple had recently moved to Kalyan from Panvel.
As per plan, her husband called his friend home and spiked her juice. He then forced her to have sex with his friend when she was in a semi-conscious state.
He threatened to kill her when she refused. Later, both the men raped her multiple times, before she gained consciousness. The two also made videos of sexually assaulting her.
Her husband threatened to make the video clip viral on social media when she regained senses. Scared, she kept mum.
However, the victim went to her maternal house for Raksha Bandhan and confided her sister about the incident who told her to file a complaint.
A cop said that the husband and his friend have been booked under IPC sections 376 (rape), 377 (unnatural sex), 354 (molestation), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (criminal act done by several persons with common intention).
