Bhubaneswar: A man allegedly committed suicide by consuming pesticide at his in-laws’ house at Balianta area on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Sanatan Jena (40) of Nua Sahi under Balianta police limits.
According to reports, Sanatan was working as a daily-wage labourer and had taken loan from private money lenders and banks. He was a loan defaulter as he was unable to repay the loan for which he was under deep mental stress for the last few days. He was also facing threats from the money lenders from whom he had borrowed the money. Unable to bear the loan burden, he allegedly took the last resort upon losing his mental stability.
Police have seized his body and sent it for post-mortem.
