Cuttack Sadar: A 30-year-old man, who had sustained critical injuries in a road mishap near Sompur on Cuttack-Paradip highway, died while undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College and Hospital here Friday, an official of Kishorenagar police said.
Tapan Kumar Jena, a resident of Haldiapara village under Biridi police limits in Jagatsinghpur district, was crossing the road when an unknown vehicle knocked him down Thursday. “The vehicle didn’t even bother to stop or look for Jena who suffered multiple injuries. A home guard passing by spotted Jena grovelling in a pool of blood and rushed him to SCB with help of local police,” the official said, quoting the home guard. “The body has been handed over to Jena’s family after an autopsy. Efforts are on to track down the errant vehicle and its driver,” the official added.
