Keonjhar: A man was killed and another was seriously injured after a goods-carrying auto-rickshaw overturned following a collision with an unknown vehicle near National Highway-20 near Hundula Village under Sadar police station limits in Keonjhar district. The identity of the deceased and injured is yet to be ascertained.
Reports, however, said that the duo from Bihar was doing business by staying in Keonjhar town. Sources said that they went to Rimuli weekly market under Champua police limits carrying clothes and other goods for sale in the locality.
The mishap occurred when they were returning to Keonjhar in an auto-rickshaw at about 5pm when an unknown vehicle collided with their vehicle. As a result, the auto overturned on the road and goods were scattered in all directions after the accident. One of them died on the spot while another person was seriously injured.
Palaspanga police outpost in-charge Manas Ranjan Panda reached the spot, rescued the injured person and admitted him to the district headquarters hospital for treatment while the body was sent for postmortem. An investigation was launched by police after seizure of the overturned auto-rickshaw.
