Malkangiri: Maoists struck terror in the district yet again, killing a tribal man as they suspected him to be a police informer, at Temurapalli village near Mathili here Tuesday night. The deceased was Jagdish Samanta.
According to sources, a group of 15-30 members of the red rebel barged into Samanta’s house and took him to a forest. They slit his throat and dumped the body in the forest.
A Maoist poster was found at the spot. It said Jagdish was working as a police informer since 2016. It also warned the locals to stay away from police or else meet with the same fate. The body has been sent by the police for post-mortem.
