Nabarangpur: A 55-year-old man was allegedly killed over land dispute at Nisanahani village under Nandahandi block of Nabarangpur district, Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Sada Bhatra.
According to reports, Sada was harvesting paddy at a farmland to which Purna Bhatra of the village objected claiming that the patch of land belonged to him.
An exchange of words ensued between the two which soon took an ugly turn as both started thrashing each other. In a fit of rage, Purna hit Sada with an iron rod inflicting critical injuries.
Locals rescued Sada and took him to the district headquarters hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
