Keonjhar: A woman was allegedly beaten to death over a family dispute at Bachuhating village under ward no 6 in Keonjhar district, police said Thursday. On receipt of information, police reached the village and launched a probe. A case was registered and the accused was arrested.
The accused has been identified as Durga Nayak, husband of the deceased woman, Bimala Nayak.
According to reports, Durga and Bimala had a wordy duel over some petty matter last night. In a fit of rage, Durga attacked Bimala killing her on the spot, reports said. Durga fled the spot after committing the crime.
Locals found Bimala in a pool of blood and informed the police. Barbil IIC Anil Pradhan along with a police team seized the body and sent it for autopsy.
During the investigation, police learnt that Durga was staying at his parent’s house in the same locality. The cops conducted a raid and nabbed Durga.
