Joda: An elderly person escaped from sure death during an elephant attack on him, but he was left critically hurt at Bichhakundi forest under Joda forest area in Keonjhar Tuesday. Reports said Joan Munda of Keth Hutting was collecting mangoes in the forest when an elephant appeared suddenly. It lifted the man with its trunk and slammed him on the ground. Then, it tried to trample him, but the man struck its trunk with his axe. Hurt, the animal abandoned him. Later, Joan was rescued by villagers and admitted to Tata Steel Hospital. He has broken a leg with wounds all over his body.
