Jharsuguda: A man allegedly thrashed his wife to death on road following a feud in Kumbharbandha under Banharpali police limits in Jharsuguda district Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Sunita Taria, 27, wife of the accused Ashok Dansana.
On receipt of information, police reached the spot and recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. A case was registered and Ashok was detained in this connection.
According to sources, the woman had come to Jharsuguda along with her husband to watch a programme January 4. The two had stayed at their relative’s house in Brundamal.
While returning to their village Saturday evening, an exchange of words erupted between the two which turned ugly as Ashok assaulted Sunita to death on the road.
Police have detained the accused for questioning.
