Nayagarh: A man and his uncle-in-law were electrocuted after coming in contact with a live wire at Balisahi village in Tumandi panchayat under Daspalla police limits of Nayagarh district Saturday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Bhakta Jani (45) and his niece’s husband Nakul Jani (41).
According to sources, Bhakta was making a wooden footstool and required electricity to start the push planer machine. However, due to power cut, he was relaxing on his veranda while waiting for the power to be restored. Nakul, who had just returned home after grazing his goats, joined him on veranda for a small talk.
Both, somehow, were electrocuted upon restoration of power.
On being informed about the incident, police rushed to the spot and launched a probe into the incident. The bodies were seized and sent to a local hospital for post-mortem.
A case of unnatural death into the incident has been registered.
