Berhampur: Nabin Swain, a small trader of Hugulapata village under Kukudakhandi block in Ganjam had shot to limelight July 4, 2017 when BJP national president Amit Shah along with other prominent leaders of the party had lunch at his house.
After returning to New Delhi, Shah had sent `1 lakh to Nabin. Now, Nabin is no longer with the BJP and joined the BJD Thursday in the presence of district BJD president and former higher education minster Pradip Panigrahi.
He has decided to refund `1 lakh to the BJP national president. In a press statement, Nabin said, “I was inspired by Naveen Patnaik’s development work and joined the BJD. I will return `1 lakh to Amit Shah.”
Ganjam BJP unit president Kanhu Charan Pati said Nabin Swain had never been a BJP member and he was offered `1 lakh as help for his striated
circumstance.
