Bantala: Police recovered a body hanging from a tree in a mango orchard at Gurudhi village of Saradhapur panchayat under Purunakote police limits in Angul district Tuesday morning.
The police identified the body as that of 19 years old Sushil Das alias Tinu of the same village.
Karuna Das, father of the deceased, lodged a complaint with the Purunakote police station alleging his son has been murdered somewhere else and later was hanged from a tree.
On basis of Karuna’s compliant, the police have registered a case and launched a probe.
According to the complaint, Sushil had gone to Purunagarh Badadanda Sahi to watch Dasahara fair Monday night and returned home at about 2:00am. He again went out of the house with a torch and never returned thereafter. Tuesday morning his body was found hanging from a tree.
Family members alleged he was murdered over a love affair.
