Koraput/Ankadeli: Launching a massive campaign, members of several naxal outfits put up posters and banners Sunday night at several places of Ankadeli panchayat in Koraput district and Khairaput block of Malkangiri district warning death penalty for BSF informers.
The left wing extremists are trying to make their presence felt in Ankadeli panchayat of Lamtaput block after creating terror in Boipariguda area, said some locals.
According to reports, more than 50 Maoists entered several villages including Bangrabadi, Shishaput, Badel, Shandrel, Balkand, Ongel, Ridal, Dalidam of Ankadeli and asked the people not to cooperate with the BSF personnel. They put up posters at various locations in this regard.
People living in these villages often disclose before the BSF about the movement of the rebels which help the security force. Therefore, the people found involved in informing the BSF about Maoists activities would be given capital punishment in Praja courts, the ultras threatened in the posters.
As the jawans have intensified their combing operations in Chhattisgarh, some rebel leaders are learnt to have escaped into the border region forests to gain support of the local people. A few Maoist leaders were seen roaming around in Ramgiri and Gupteswar forest of Boipariguda block a few days back, a report said.
Some of them remained present in border villages of Ankadeli panchayat and put up posters to bias the locals in their favour, it was learnt.
