Bhubaneswar: Director General of Police (DGP) Rajendra Prasad Sharma Monday handed over a cheque of Rs 8 lakh to Manjari Majhi, sister of martyred Sepoy Sanjaya Majhi of District Voluntary Force (DVF) at a function held in Cuttack.
DGP office sources said the claim was settled by HDFC Bank.
Sanjaya was killed in a land mine blast triggered by the Maoists at Sakata village under Muniguda police limits in Rayagada district during a combing operation April 10, 2017.
