Bhubaneswar, Feb 21: Miss Orissa 2014 Jyotirmayee Bal, who is thrilled with her recent title of ‘Miss Global India-2015’, which she received in Goa 10 days ago is now all set to hit the big screens in the state. Her first Oriya film ‘Akhi Bujhi Dele Tu’ is expected to release sometime March-April.
“I am very excited about my new journey. Shootings of the movie are in the final stages. This is basically about a married girl and her winning the hearts of her in-laws through her good manners and upbringing. It has been directed by Murali Dhar and co-acted by Pupinder. We have to just shoot one more song. After the shooting is over and post-productions are done, the film will be released. As this would be my first ever movie for the big screen I have pinned hopes on the entertainment package. Hope people from the state will love and appreciate the hard work our team has put into it,”
she said.
Moreover, the former beauty queen is now toiling hard to make her entry into Bollywood. “After I am done with the movie, I will surely going to try for Bollywood. I am told that I will have to face some auditions in Mumbai. But challenges cannot deter me. With all sincerity I will try my best to get into Bollywood as I have always aspired.”
Jyotirmayee was on February 11 was crowned “Miss Global India-2015” at an event in Goa where top 10 participants from different parts of the country contested for the title. Jyotirmayee, who wore traditional pasapalli lenga with specially designed tribal jewelries and carried a bronze thalli (tray) containing coconut, bangles, sindur and haldi floored the judges with her lucrative Oriya attire. Jyotirmayee says the event had basically five rounds which tested participants’ communication skills, personality, and their viewpoint on society among other virtues they had.
“It was a great experience to compete at the national level. I was exposed to multiple rounds of auditions along with other participants. But after winning the show my confidence got a boost and I was filled with a sense of pride for my state. It was my dream to make my career in modeling and films. After winning the title I realised that I was on the right track to achieve what I have always dreamt to,” says Jyotirmayee.
Jyotirmayee, a student of Integrated MBA, from BJB (Autonomous) College says the desire to make modeling her career was inculcated only after she visited Bhubaneswar three years ago for her education. The Oriya beauty belongs to Kendrapara. Her father works with Nalco and her mother is a housewife. Jyotirmayee recently took a three-month modeling training at an institute in Pune to sharpen her skills. The aspiring actress also has an inclination towards social work.
“I have always been into social service. I always try my best to give the society something from my side. I have worked with Help Age India and Rotary Club for some social works whenever I got sometime. I have visited many orphans and tried my best to spend some time with them and help them in the best possible way.”
