Bhubaneswar, March 20: Maa Bhuasuni Club (MBC) emerged champions of the Inter-District Club Football Championship after pipping Birsingh Club by a solitary goal in the final at Sundargarh, Sunday.
Karfulal Lakra scored the all important goal of the nail-biting match in the 23rd minute. Birsingh players tried their best, but could not find the equaliser.
MBC of Cuttack, Birsingh Club of Jharsuguda, Gandhi Club of Sundargarh and Unit-VI Athletic Association, Bhubaneswar qualified for the final round of the All India Kalinga Cup football tournament.
YC-73 in semis
Yajdani Club-73 entered the semifinals of the Bhagyadhar Trophy football tournament after eking out a narrow 1-0 win over Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in the inaugural match at the Indira Ground here Sunday. Yajdani scored their only goal in the 20th minute of the game.
