Midnight heist: Cash, gold looted at knifepoint in Kalahandi

Kalahandi: Armed robbers allegedly threatened a couple at knifepoint and looted cash and valuables from their house in Odisha’s Kalahandi district late Monday night.

The incident occurred in Jagannathpur village under Lanjigarh police limits, where five to six miscreants broke open the front gate and entered Anand Agrawal’s house between 2 a.m. and 2:30 a.m.

According to reports, the accused held the couple at knifepoint and decamped with about Rs 10 lakh in cash, nearly 15 tolas of gold ornaments and around 20 tolas of silver.

Police rushed to the spot after being informed and launched an investigation.
