Malkangiri: In a shocking incident, a minor girl was found lying unconscious with her hands and legs tied along roadside near a forest at Singalbancha under Mathili police limits in Malkangiri district Tuesday.
Locals on their way to collect leaves spotted the girl and rescued her. She was then rushed to a hospital where her condition was stated to be critical.
While no exact reason was ascertained under what circumstances the girl came to that place, locals suspected her to be raped. Rumours did round that some miscreants might have brutally raped her before dumping her alongside the road in an unconscious state.
The condition of the girl was critical and she had not regained her consciousness until the last reports came in. The exact reason will be known only after she gains consciousness and reveals the matter.
Locals said, the girl aged around 13-14 years, does not belong to the locality. No persons in the locality could recognise her.
