Bonai: A minor girl was allegedly gangraped Thursday evening in a forest near Choradhara village under K Balang police limits in Sundargarh district, police said Friday.
A complaint was lodged by the victim’s family members at K Balang police station, following which a case (117/25) was registered and two people were detained for questioning. According to the complaint, the victim, a resident of K Balang area, had gone with friends to Barasuan to attend Vishwakarma Puja. While returning home, two youths allegedly threatened her friends near Choradhara village and forced them to leave.
They then dragged the girl into a nearby forest, where they raped her. The accused later fled the scene, leaving the girl behind. She later managed to return home and informed her family about the incident. Her family members subsequently filed a complaint at the police station, leading to the detention of the two suspects. Police said medical examinations of the victim and the accused were conducted Friday.
