Odagaon: A written complaint has been lodged by a minor girl for allegedly being molested by a married man at Odagaon area in Nayagarh district Thursday.
The accused identified as Biranchit Duari (35), the father of two children of Landabadu village of Sunamunhi panchayat is absconding after filing of the complaint.
According to reports, the 14-year-old girl had gone to a nearby agricultural land where her father was engaged in harvesting paddy crop to give the latter food, Wednesday afternoon. When she was returning home, Biranchit spotted her near a secluded canal and forcefully took her into the water body following which he allegedly outraged her modesty.
On reaching home, the victim narrated her ordeal before family members following which they lodged a complaint against the accused with the police. However, when police raided Biranchit’s house, he had already fled the residence.
Police sent the victim for medical examination, recorded her statement and launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
