Kendrapara: A 16-year-old girl was kidnapped from her house and raped by a driver Friday night at Nasidipur village under Town police limits. Town police station IIC Tapan Kumar Nayak said accused Sushant Mallick confined the girl in his rented house and allegedly raped her.
The victim, who was rescued by the house owner Sunday, lodged an FIR with the Kendrapara Town police against a woman named Rina and her driver Sushant.
The police registered a case and started an investigation. So far no arrest has been made, the IIC said.
Police said the victim and her family members have been staying in the township area here for the last several years.
Friday night, Rina, the owner of a four-wheeler of Nasidipur village asked the girl, a student of Class X, to come out of her house. When the girl came out of her house, the driver and the woman forcibly took her in their vehicle to the rented house of Sushant in Nasidipur village where the accused allegedly committed the crime.
The duo wanted to take the girl to Bhubaneswar, but when she resisted, they abandoned her and left the place. The minor later disclosed the incident to her father and lodged the FIR.
