Bhandaripokhari: Two bike-borne miscreants Thursday evening looted a gold chain and a locket from a woman and fled the spot. This incident took place on Parbati-Jagannathprasad canal road under this police limits in Bhadrak.
Sources said Prabhati Das and her son Madhusudan were returning home on a bike. Meanwhile, two miscreants on a bike waylaid them on the canal road. Placing a knife at Madhusudan’s neck, they terrorised Prabhati, snatched away the chain and the locket.
The victim’s husband Pramod lodged a complaint with the police Thursday night.
However, no case was registered till last report came in, sources said.
Pointing out that there has been an increase in the number of such incidents on highways, the locals demanded the police to intensify patrolling.
