Ahmedabad: A 33-year-old married woman, who has accused self-styled godman Asaram Bapu of rape and mysteriously disappeared from her house two weeks ago, appeared before the Surat police Sunday. ‘‘The woman appeared before Kamrej police in Surat,’’ superintendent of police Pradip Sejul told the media. The woman stayed in Ahmedabad after she went missing from her Surat house two weeks back, and went Saturday to Indore, from where she returned Sunday, said Sejul. ‘‘About her disappearance, she said the police protection given to her had disturbed her social life. Her friends and neighbours often asked her about the reason for the protection. Her child too faced questions at school. This, she said, was the primary reason,’’ he said.
