Bhawanipatna: Even as the elections are round the corner, party-hopping of leaders continues unabated. Ending his two-decade-old relation with the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD), sitting MLA of Morada constituency Praveen Chandra Bhanjdeo officially joined the BJP Tuesday here in Kalahandi district.
Bhanjdeo pledged with the saffron party at the Vijay Sankalp Samabesh here, in the presence of Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP vice president Baijayant Panda and BJP state president Basanta Panda, among others.
Worth mentioning, Bhanjdeo had resigned from the post of Mayurbhanj BJD district president and also given up the primary membership of the party.
Meanwhile, the BJD has allocated the party ticket for Morada to former BJP state vice president Rajkishore Das who recently joined the ruling party of Odisha.
Morada will go to polls in the first phase – April 11.
