Sundargarh: Most wanted Maoist Mukesh Hembram (25) surrendered before the Rourkela police and CRPF’s 19th battalion Wednesday, Rourkela SP Umashankar Das said at a press meet.
Mukesh of Jagannathpur village under Tikayatpali police limits in Sundargarh district was lured into the Maoist fold by rebel leaders Anmol alias Samaraji and Kunu Dehuri alias Bijay on the promise of free food, education and monetary help.
Of late, Mukesh became disillusioned with the Maoist ideology and decided to join the mainstream. The government will help Mukesh lead a new life, the SP said.
