Bhubaneswar: Mothers Public School (MPS) entered the quarterfinals of the Inter-School football tournament registering an emphatic 6-0 victory over Xavier’s School, Khandagiri at the Unit-VI High School Ground here, Monday.
MPS were the first team to make it to the round of eight after their second successive win in the tournament, organised by Unit-VI Athletic Association (UAA).
Man of the match Sohan Dandapata scored a hat-trick while Sekh Wasif Ali, Rishabh Prusty and Yash Ved struck once each.
In another match played earlier in the day, Capital High School (CHS) spanked BJB English Medium School 4-0. CHS dominated the match completely with Biswanath Barua, Sangram Majhi, Chandan Nayak and Raj Soren scoring a goal each. Chandan was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant soccer skills.
RSC pip Bidanasi
Rising Student Club (RSC) pipped Bidanasi Club by a solitary goal in a keenly-contested match of the FAO first division league at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Monday.
Despite attacking football from both the teams the first half ended barren. In the second half Jayant Mahato scored the only goal of the match in the 77th minute. Bidanasi players tried their best till the last moment, but couldn’t find the equaliser.
