Mumbai shame on video: Foreign vlogger harassed despite repeated refusals

Mumbai: A foreign travel vlogger said she was harassed and followed for about 15 minutes while walking in a public area of Mumbai, according to a video she posted on Instagram that has since gone viral.

The vlogger, identified as Ines Faria, shared footage showing two men trailing her as she walked. In the clip, one of the men repeatedly asks to take a photograph with her despite her refusals. The men continue to follow her, and at one point she appears to push one of them away as he moves closer.

In the caption accompanying the video, Faria said it was the first time in two months of travelling in India that she had faced such a situation. She added that most people she met in the country were welcoming and respectful, and clarified that the incident did not reflect her overall experience.

The video prompted strong reactions on social media. Several users apologised for the men’s behaviour and praised the vlogger for remaining calm. Others questioned why the men persisted after repeated refusals and urged her to file a police complaint. Some commenters also noted that similar incidents are reported by women in other Indian cities.
