Parjang: Engagement was over. She was supposed to tie knot with her beau just after three days March 13. However, she could hardly ever in her dreams had thought that she would be arrested and would have to serve in the jail.
She was accused of being involved in the murder of a youth of the same village and had to be arrested. Such bizarre incident has been reported from Baghamunda village under Parjang police limits in Dhenkanal district.
She has been identified as Manshi Singh, daughter of Sameer Singh.
According to the case diary, the incident occurred August 13, 2017. A rift prevailed between the family of Manshi and the deceased youth Prasant Singh of the same village.
As per plan, six members including Manshi hatched a plan and killed him. Acting on a complaint by Prasant’s kin, police had registered a case and had arrested four persons while Manshi and another female of her family were absconding.
Since then, the police was on the lookout for Manshi. Meanwhile, her family members had arranged her marriage with a youth of the locality and the marriage was supposedly going to be solemnized after three days.
After getting information, Parjang SI Janmeya Patra, ASI Sulochana Ghadei, Gopabandhu Behera along with other police officials conducted sudden raid with the help of arrest warrant issued by the court and arrested Manshi.
The incident has become the talk of the town. Meanwhile, the family members of the youth, who was supposed to marry Manshi breathed a sigh of relief as they were unaware that they were getting their son married to a murder accused.
