Bhubaneswar: The annual Navy Day was celebrated at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) here Saturday with an enthralling concert by the Naval Band. The event was organised by INS Chilika and was hosted by Commodore Manish Mishra, commanding officer, Chilika, while Asit Tripathy, Development Officer, was the chief guest.
Showcasing their skills, the band, ‘The Jingle of the High C,’ regaled the audience with musical pieces ranging from western classical as ‘CZARDS’ to Bollywood tracks as ‘Papa Kehte Hain.’
“This is the fifth time I am attending this function and every time I feel I am visiting it for the first time. I had always dreamt of joining the India Navy but destiny had other plans for me. But this does not stop me visiting this event whenever I get the opportunity,” said Indraneel Sarkar, a student at KIIT.
