Bhubaneswar: The latest odia hit song Maya Re Baya from the movie Tokata Phasigala is getting popular with every passing day. After hindi film actor and dancing star Tiger Shroff dances in the tune of the song in a dance video of the song recnetly, the popular Nigerian Singer Samuel Singh has also released his version of this Odia song. Samuel Adepoju aka Samuel Singh is very well known for his love for Indian songs released the Africa Mix of this song on his YouTube channel.
The singer had earlier in February created the rendition of the Rangabati cover inspired by Sona Mohapatra’s Coke Studio version of the cult song which amassed 1.1 million views on YouTube till now.
In his latest video of the odia song several Igbo dancers of Nigeria and Samuel can be seen pronouncing the Odia lyrics peppered with Nigerian accent. He said ”Hello Odisha, You loved my Rangabati song. So Here I Sing One more Odia song for u. The recent viral Odia Song “This is Maya re Baya” of Actor Sabyasachi, from Movie Tokata Fasigala. I am in Love with this song and tried my best to give it justice. Share this video if u liked it. Love from Africa,” he wrote on YouTube.
The Samuel’s version of the song was appreciated by Lyricist Nirmal Nayak and actor Sabysachi Mishra who thanked him for this attempt.
Samuel who came to India for treatment purpose few years back fall in love with India and its varied culture. In 2012, he returned to India to pursue higher studies during a college fest, he got an opportunity to perform where he sang a Bhojpuri song and was widely appreciated. A cover of this song catapulted him to limelight. His versions of the song such as ‘Lollipo Lagelu’ to Tamil song ‘Why This Kolaveri Di’, Samuel has made covers on a number of hindi and international songs, as well.
Earlier, Baaghi star Tiger Shroff has stunned his fans with his dance to the Odia song Maya re Baya of the upcoming movie Tokata Phasigala.
Odia film actor Sabyasachi Mishra posted the video on social media in which Tiger is seen practicing freestyle mama dance to the beats of the song along with his trainer-choreographer Odia boy Vikram Swain and another dancer.
Tokata Phasigala is an upcoming Odia film in which Sabyasachi Mishra and Elina Samantaray have acted in it.
