Deogarh: Around 68 science students of Deogarh College walked out of the examination hall Tuesday after being prevented from using unfair means, reports said.
Sources said the college authorities had arranged the examination in a hall on the top floor of their building, which is under CCTV surveillance.
Instead of taking the exam, the students, 44 boys and 24 girls, walked out of the hall and sat in the building’s corridor demanding that the authorities allow them to copy.
The students wanted books and chits for copying. When the college authorities and invigilators refused this, the students staged a protest and refused to write the exam.
The college authorities alerted the Deogarh Collector and SP regarding the matter. They came to the college and seized the answer sheets, questions papers and examination admission cards from the students.
Soon the students walked out of the college without writing the examination. Later, the Principal held a meeting with the teachers and said the answer sheets of the students had been seized.
The remaining examinations will also be held under CCTV surveillance, the Principal said.
Sources said 127 students came for the examination Tuesday. Of them, 68 walked out protesting against the CCTV surveillance inside the examination hall.
