Belgrade: In a unique tradition runners take part in an Underpants Run on the banks of Danube River in Belgrade, while outside temperatures run in negative Celsius.
Almost three dozen courageous people have braved the freezing temps clad only in their underwear for an annual jog in the capital of Serbia, Belgrade.
Most people hide their trunks and swimsuits until summer, while others prolong their swimming season until winter. According to the event’s organisers, controlled exposure to the cold is the best way to strengthen the immune system and rejuvenate the body. Participants in the Underpants Run on the banks of the Danube River say that they do not run for the sake of victories and records but in order to cheer up others.
