Koraput: A Class-X student Thursday collapsed to death during the ongoing Summative Assessment- II examination at a centre in Damanjodi under Koraput district in Odisha, a source said.
The deceased was identified as Kuna Pujari – a student of Malusanta Government High School in Damanjodi.
According to the source, Kuna was at Saraswati Vidya Mandir at Damanjodi with his father Thursday morning to appear in the examination for Science paper. After going into the examination hall, he was provided with the question paper and answer sheet by the invigilators.
However, while writing, Kuna fell unconscious. Following first aid, he was rushed to a nearby hospital. However, the doctor in the hospital declared him dead, the source informed.
A case of unnatural death has been lodged in this connection.
Notably, a relative of the deceased on the condition of anonymity claimed that Kuna had some previous health issues and he had fainted on a few occasions in the past due to the symptoms of the ailment.
Police have launched a probe into the incident.
