Barbil: A girl died after reportedly falling from the roof of her rented house in Sri Ram Nagar area of Barbil in Odisha’s Keonjhar district, a source said Saturday.
The deceased girl was identified as Ruchi Jha – a student in Plus – II first year. She was the elder daughter of Sabal Jha – an officer at a private mining company.
According to the source, Ruchi had climbed the roof Friday afternoon for some reason and fell from the roof moments later. She was immediately taken to Barbil Community Health Centre (CHC), where a doctor declared her dead.
The owner of the house Sanjeev Kumar Mishra said he came out of the house after hearing a sudden thud and saw Ruchi lying on the ground in a pool of blood.
It can be mentioned here that Sabal and his family have been residing in the rental home for some years.
The reason behind the mishap is yet to be determined.
Barbil police have launched a probe in this regard.
